Chalk Art Tribute to Sidewalk Sam

June 6, 2015 – Chalk Artist Jerrie K. Lyndon created a large-scale participatory chalk drawing durig the Cambridge River Festival to commemorate the artwork of Robert Guillemin, best known as Sidewalk Sam (1939 – 2015).

Sidewalk Sam, founder of ArtStreet Inc., created reproductions of European masterpieces as well as participatory art projects using the sidewalks of Boston and Cambridge like a canvas. His positive outlook and open mind were the inspiration for communities to pick up chalk, join in and let their creativity flow.

Thank you to everyone who participated to remember Sidewalk’s significant work in the community!
